HOW WE GIVE BACK
CEEA Education Fund
In 2023, we were proud to announce the development of the CEEA Education Fund. This exciting new program is helping us support youth with post-secondary goals, and ensure we continue to advance the Canadian energy industry forward.
Consistent with our core values and advocacy strategy, the CEEA Education fund was created in an effort to have a larger impact nationally and to foster the growth and development of future leaders in our industry.
Funding continues to be the main barrier for Indigenous youth to move on to post-secondary education. Through our CEEA Indigenous Award we will help support this group by making education more financially accessible. We value the partnerships we have created with Indigenous communities and leaders and want to help ensure a bright and successful future for these individuals and their families.
In recent years, the number of students entering petroleum-focused post-secondary programs has steadily declined. In fact, a recent Bloomberg article reported that the number of Petroleum Engineering graduates has gone down 85% in the past 5 years.
Much of CEEA's advocacy efforts are directed at youth, working to combat the message that petroleum is a negative and dying industry. Our goal in developing this CEEA Energy Industry Award and funding scholarships through generous donations is to enable and encourage some of the brightest students to choose a career in the important energy industry.

CEEA 74 donation
to Kids Cancer Care
Since the 68th, CEEA has worked to raise funds for many important charities in our community. It is tradition for the current Chairs to select a charity to direct funds to.
In addition to the CEEA Education Fund, our chairs for CEEA 74 have chosen to direct a portion of funds from the Governors Charity Ball to Kids Cancer Care. Kids Cancer Care is passionately dedicated to helping young people affected by cancer and their families survive and thrive in body, mind and spirit.
Community Giving
We are proud that CEEA has raised over $1 million over the past six years for charities such as Make a Wish Canada, Calgary Reads, the Calgary Police Youth Foundation, the Alzheimer’s Society of Calgary, HEROS and others.
Thanks to our members, CEEA is making a lasting imprint on the charities we support.
